The Infinite Corpse

To make sense of this strip, you might need to go here for some context.  I did a piece for The Infinite Corpse and they've put it up. Go check it out, it was heaps of fun to do so give it a go! They give you seven days to draw a comic that leads on from the previous artist's strip. So it's this fantastically confusing and busy infinite comic. Brilliant.

The Frazzled Fantail and The Worker Man Wolf

The Worker Man Wolf was painted for a friend of mine who is also an artist. I was tempted to keep The Frazzled Fantail but decided to see if anyone wanted to call it their own so I put it on Facebook and it was sold in minutes. So this little guy is off to Australia. I think this might be my first painting to travel internationally. I love the size of the frame too. This was my first time painting this small, I thought I'd find it limiting but I loved it! 

These are both painted with gouache on 300gsm watercolour paper. Please feel free to ask questions. I'm not the type of artists who cling to their work ethics like they're mysterious secrets.

My Blog

I've just submitted a comic to the guys who do The Infinite Corpse. If you don't know what that is, you should totally check it out. Hopefully my comic gets through the selection process, I think it's pretty funny. While uploading, it gave me a chance to plug my website. Which would have been great! If my blog was working. So have you seen my blog lately? What on earth is going on! All the photos are broken. I'm talking like two/three years of orgasmic pictorial glorium, and it's all gone. I've tried changing up my template and reading some stuff online. I emailed Blogger about it. Someone please! Fix my beautiful blog!

I'm in a state of mourning. So my online presence at the moment is cut down to an ugly Facebook page (Facebook is ugly, lets just be honest) an unfinished website and a G+ account that I don't use half as much as I should. 

My poor poor broken blog. :'(

Handmade, New Zealand made, Resin Toys

This is what I've been up to recently. Starting a whole new can of worms hobby! Design toys! Bottom of the pile again. Just to mix it up a little. I shall post some photos of my adorable little guys.

His name is Quadropus and I love him. There's also the moose which I've got a couple people painting custom faces on. That's you +Jeff Hunt and +Isaac Taylor, don't disappoint me now! :)

My adorable little army. I plan on making them each a hand felted little scarf and selling them. Any ideas for a price I should sell them at? I want them to be affordable but I also need to be motivated to make them because it's quite a process. Pricing is always the hardest part for me.

Moose Shirt Mushroom Girl

I call this one Moose Shirt Mushroom Girl! (and companion). I might paint this one at some point but you know how I am. I like everything better when it's in pencil. Although it would look good in watercolour. Sexy sexy watercolour.

On another note, I have mosquitos in my room! How did they get there!?

I Kill Giants (Fan Art)

I was recently at a very good, but very long workshop on how to do taxes as a sole trader. Thrilling stuff. Anyway, as you can imagine, I spent half the time drawing. I drew Barbara from 'I Kill Giants' from memory (so don't hate me if I got it wrong) and wearing my logo on her shirt (coz she thinks I'm cool). If you haven't read the book yet, get your ass onto it. Barbara is my hero. 

I also thought it'd be fun to draw her as a teenager. It started out as a drawing of my Quadropus (see below) but yeah, ended up with a human underneath him. And Barbara, with a Quadropus on her head. That's fine, she likes strange hats anyway. Please forgive the rude gesture, it was her not me. 

I want hair like that! :)

What I've been up to

I haven't forgotten you bloggy blog. I've been busy with an amount of things, the two photos above are proof!. The first image is a watercolor for the White Space graphic novel's cover. And below it are two laser cut wooden toys for my event project. I painted the mdf board before laser cutting so they looked nice a clean. A bunch of the little birds are going to get made up in different colours and placed in my hair, which will be teased to all hell to look like a bird's nest, and photographed by my good friend Matt. So that'll be fun, photos soon.
